Let's MOVE that Bus Stop!
Anyone interested in working with the St. Ignatius Community Building and Empowerment (CBE) team to explore moving the Capital Metro Bus Stop please contact Iva Williams at 444-6235 or email@example.com.
CBE is interested in working with parents from the school to find a suitable place off Chruch property to move the stop. Joining the team will mean once monthly meetings and working with the City of Austin and Capital Metro to take the necessary steps to move forward with this issue. The CBE team is excited to partner with a team from the school and expand our sense of community. I read this excerpt from "Bread for the Journey" by Henri J.M. Nouwen and felt it applied here:
The word community has many connotations, some positive, some negative. Community can make us think of a safe togetherness, shared meals, common goals, and joyful celebrations. It also can call forth images of sectarian exclusivity, in-group language, self-satisfied isolation, and romantic naivete. However, community is first of all a quality of the heart. It grows from the spiritual knowledge that we are alive not for ourselves but for one another. Community is the fruit of our capacity to make the interests of others more important than our own (see Philippians 2:4). The question, therefore, is not "How can we make community?" but "How can we develop and nurture giving hearts?"
