Tuesday, December 7, 2010, 12:00 AM - 12:00 AM
On Tuesday, December 7, the Student Government is hosting Mix-It-Up Day, based on a national day celebrated by schools throughout the United States (see www.teachingtolerance.org
for more information).
The purposes of the day are to develop diversity awareness among students and to help improve respect and cooperation in the school community. The Student Government will help students learn about differences by hosting activities in homerooms and by sponsoring a mix-it-up lunch, where students sit at different lunch tables and get to meet new people. Also, students will be able to wear mixed-up patterns of clothing as part of the day's celebration of\ differences.
The day will close with all students in the school signing the Resolution of Respect, a pledge to treat others kindly and to put a stop to teasing and bullying in the school community. For more information, please contact Student Government adviser Mr. Morgan Daniels at email@example.com
