The Diocese of Austin Science Fair (DASF) was created for the purpose of giving our students in the Diocese of Austin Schools an opportunity to expand their interest and problem solving skills in the area of science. In addition, the DASF was created to motivate students to research topics, plan investigations, conduct experiments, and present exhibits to share results with the general public.
Participation at a local school fair or pre-approval to attend a regional science fair is required for a student to be considered for eligibility into the DASF. Local fairs determine which students are eligible to apply to the DASF. A local school may send up to a total of 18 projects, 6 from grades 6,7, and 8, to the DASF.
All fair participants must observe all the rules in this handbook. Ignorance of these rules will not excuse anyone from meeting the entry requirements. The purpose of these rules is to provide basic guidance and to protect students, teachers, and parents, as well as human and animal subjects. Remember, the project submitted to DASF must be solely the work of the student.
