I grew up in Mexico City, Mexico and came to Austin to study at St. Edward's University. I graduated from St. Edward's with a degree in Bilingual-Bicultural Teacher Education. After a few years of teaching with the public schools, I began my graduate work at the University of Texas (Austin) in Reading and in Educational Administration. I worked for the Austin Independent School District for 16 years, both as a teacher and as an assistant principal. I have been teaching at St. Ignatius, Martyr, Catholic School for nine years. I am the sixth grade homeroom teacher as well as the National Junior Honor Society teacher sponsor. I love teaching and find the middle school grades to be the most fun to teach.
I have three beautiful, active and fun-loving children. Two of my children attend St. Ignatius, Martyr, Catholic School. My oldest child, a St. Ignatius graduate, is a junior at St. Michael’s Catholic Academy. My husband, Brian, coaches volleyball and soccer for the middle school. Brian and I were married at St. Ignatius 30 years ago! I love being a part of the St. Ignatius community and feel so blessed to be here.
